Testlab Geo-Services

The accredited testing laboratory Testlab Geo-Services carries out determinations of the chemical and isotopic composition of natural gas, calculations of other physicochemical parameters of the gas from the measured values and determinations of the isotopic composition of water. The laboratory holds a Certificate of Accreditation No. 600/2021, issued by the Czech Accreditation Institute, as a Testing Laboratory No. 1652. The laboratory therefore has an established quality management system in accordance with the ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard.

The chemical composition of natural gas is determined by gas chromatography using FID detectors and TCD gas chromatograph GC 7890A (Agilent Technologies). The components to be determined include hydrocarbons (methane, ethane, propane, isobutane, n-butane, neopentane, isopentane, n-pentane, hexanes), helium, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, oxygen and nitrogen. The calculated physicochemical parameters include higher calorific value, lower calorific value, Wobbe index, density and relative density.

G2201-i spectrometer (Picarro, Inc.) is used to determine the isotopic composition in tests nos. 2 and 3; the L2140-i spectrometer (Picarro, Inc.) is used to determine the isotopic composition of oxygen (δ17O) in test no. 4. The isotopic composition of hydrogen (δD in methane) in test no. 5 is determined using gas chromatograph GC 7820A (Agilent Technologies) and G2182-i spectrometer (Picarro, Inc.).
