Requirements for Receiving the Grant

Requests for the grant are evaluated quarterly up to the planned amount. Each project is assessed on the basis of 5 criteria and is evaluated accordingly. The most successful project is the one with the highest score. Based on individual criteria 1 up to 10 points can be distributed. A project can get a maximum of 50 points. A project with less than 15 points can not be approved.

The ranking of projects which gained more than 15 points is based on the number of distributed points. Some criteria are based on objective assessment; others are affected by a subjective opinion.

Application criteria:

1. Locality

Locality

RWE Gas Storage wants to help with its grant programme mainly to those cadastral areas that are in close proximity or adjacent to its operations. For approval of the request for grant it is therefore important in which area the project will be implemented. The highest score under this criterion, which is 10 points, can be given only to those requests that concern the following municipalities:

UGS Dolní Dunajovice: Dolní Dunajovice, Dolní Věstonice, Horní Věstonice and Perná
UGS Tvrdonice: Tvrdonice, Hrušky, Kostice and Týnec na Moravě
UGS Lobodice: Lobodice, Troubky and Tovačov
UGS Štramberk: Štramberk, Kopřivnice, Ženklava, Nový Jičín, Rybí and Závišice
UGS Třanovice: Třanovice, Český Těšín, Dolní Domaslavice, Soběšovice,
Těrlicko, Horní Tošanovice, Chotěbuz
UGS Háje: Háje, Příbram, Milín and Lešetice

2. Degree of impact on its neighbourhood

It is a priority for RWE Gas Storage that financial support provided under the grants is used cost-efficiently and brings benefits to as many people as possible.

Calculation formula:

The amount of grant/number of people directly affected by the project = relative amount. The relative amount will be converted into points by using the following table:

relative amount points
500 10
500 – 700 8
700 – 1200 6
1200 – 2000 4
2000 – 3000 2

Example:

50 000 CZK (grant for English lessons) / 20 (number of students attending the class) = 2 500 CZK. According to the table the relative amount (2 500 CZK) corresponds to two points.

3. Tangibility of the project

The more tangible is the benefit people get from the project the higher score the application gets. RWE Gas Storage gives preference to projects with a specific impact over studies whose impact is more abstract. The score which is given to individual applications depends under this criterion on the subjective evaluation of selection committee members.

Example:
The project for playground construction in a municipality gets under this criterion higher score than a project for implementing a survey with the aim to find whether the inhabitants are in favour of a new playground.

4. Benefit of the grant

RWE Gas Storage wants people to benefit as much as possible from projects it had supported. Thus it prefers applications that improve life standards and quality and help people who live in the areas in which the company operates. Project benefits are assessed individually, on the basis of subjective evaluation.

5. Applicant’s activity

Applicants who are willing to participate in the project will be given preference in application evaluation. It is not only financial participation we have in mind. RWE Gas Storage wants people to get actively involved into the project implementation.

Example:
The applicant prepares the facility in which the new equipment should be installed and ensures its operation.

  • Financial participation can be awarded by a maximum of 5 points.
Calculation formula: every full 10 % of financial participation = number of awarded points.
  • Physical participation can be awarded by a maximum of 5 points.
Calculation formula: based on subjective evaluation
