The Decree No. 344/2012 on States of Emergency in the Gas Industry and on Safeguarding a Security of Supply Standard entered into force on 1 November 2012. The Decree stipulates that all suppliers who deliver gas to protected customers as defined in Article 2 of the Decree between 30 September and 1 April of each year must fulfill a predefined security of supply standard.  Protected customers include households, heating plants, healthcare and social facilities, food producers and other entities. In Autumn 2013, RWE Gas Storage will begin issuing and providing to its customers a certificate of the amount of gas stored in the company’s storage facilities. more

RWE Gas Storage starts to offer a new storage product for its current and new customers - temporary storage volume which serves as additional storage capacity for periods defined by storage operator. more

At an official ceremony today, RWE Gas Storage has put in operation 290 million m3 of newly built storage capacity developed by enlarging the existing underground gas storage in Třanovice near Těšín. The company marks a successful completion of the three-year project co-financed by the EU, one of the most extensive capital investments in the company’s history. Together with the recently completed gas transmission interconnector between the Czech Republic and Poland, the expanded storage facility represents a major contribution of RWE to increasing security of supply not only in Northern Moravia, but also in Poland.

RWE Gas Storage will organize an auction for 10 mcm of working gas volume of available storage capacity in its storage facilities. The working gas volume is offered for 8 months (from 1 June 2012 to 31 January 2013). more

In connection to the last changes of the Market Model Decree ERU approved amendment to the Storage Code of RWE Gas Storage. This amendment is valid from May 1, 2012.   more

On 1 January 2012, an amendment to the Decree of ERO on the Gas Market Model becomes effective, in the preparation of which RWE Gas Storage, s.r.o. took an active part. The decree contains several changes for the benefit of storage users. more

This year, RWE celebrates the 10th anniversary of its entry into the Czech market. RWE became known to the public in 2002 after buying a majority share in the joint-stock company Transgas and shares in gas distribution companies from the National Property Fund of the CR at EUR 4.1 bn. It has created a strong energy company from these companies over the following years; it supplies natural gas and electricity to more than two million customers in the local market nowadays. RWE belongs to the biggest European energy group. It accomplished is the biggest privatisation project in the Czech Republic since 1989. more

Storage system operator RWE Gas Storage, s.r.o. is preparing to expand the existing storage capacity depending on the sufficient demand which is to be determined within a market survey (Open Season) through a demand questionnaire. more
