New Storage Code

Due to the amendment to Decree No. 524/2006 on the Rules for the Organisation of the Gas Market (Market Model Decree), RWE Gas Storage has amended its Storage Code, which is to come into force as of 27 November 2008. The main modifications to the Storage Code are the following:

• storage capacity will be allocated in an electronic auction with the exception of daily and interruptible capacity
• precise regulation of the electronic auction launch and procedure
• implementation of a five-year duration limit for annual contracts for existing capacity
• introduction of a new type of contract for new storage capacity with a contract duration limit of 15 years
• relaxing some of the financial requirements for potential storage users
• other modifications which make the Storage Code more readable and understandable
